Pete Bridges is perhaps one of the finest people that our town ever produced. He and his wife Barbara have represented out town well in Pete's almost two decades to serving the citizens of Tallapoosa. Pete is an astute businessman. West Georgia Golf Company is known all over the United States. I've met golfers from Hawaii to Hilton Head who played with clubs from West Georgia Golf. West Georgia Golf Company has given many of our young people jobs to further their education and for that fact our city should be grateful. Pete has always believed in the youth of our town.  Pete is perhaps the most hands-on municipal leader I've ever heard of.There is no question that he is the most accessible.  Four years ago when I bought a house in Tallapoosa, Pete welcomed me home the day I closed on the house.  Seeing the positive growth of our town with restaurants, shops, and businesses opening has made many of us know that Pete's leadership is a key reason why. Our town's financial ledgers are in the black. Pete Bridges has fought for improvements our town needed. Public safety always had the support of Pete Bridges. As mayor he was a good steward for our tax dollars. I am delighted that he handed over the reins of the city's leadership to Jackie Roberts. She is a remarkable woman and has served our city well for many years. I look forward to her continuing doing a great job and continued quality growth for Tallapoosa.  Pete Bridges has never backed down from a challenge. He's proven it more than once. My major in graduate school was leadership. I learned that leadership is doing the right thing and not necessarily doong whatever it takes to hold power. Pete has always shown leadership as a businessman, in his service on the city council and his many years as mayor. Pete is running for our district's state senate seat. It is an important job. It takes someone to step up and lead.  It takes someone who can shake things up under the Gold Dome in Atlanta. It takes someone willing to fight for his constituents. Same ole, same ole and the status quo are no longer acceptable. The issue of jobs for our citizens should be foremost for all of Georgia. The next governor should know this and the voters of Georgia have an opportunity to speak up in Tuesday's primary election. This Tuesday you have an opportunity to put someone who will truly look out for our city, county, and the entire senatorial district. He will be a full-time state senator. Our state senate district deserves a senator who will be accessible and will get the hard tasks done. Jobs and education are key elements to an economically sound Georgia. We need someone who will fight for our district when it comes to jobs and education. This district needs someone who will put our people first. Period. Stand up for Tallapoosa. Stand up for Haralson County. Stand up for District 31. Voting for Pete Bridges is a way to get your voice heard.
